Read Rover was a white-label product for authors that wanted to create a digital children's book. Users bought Read Rover from the website, and then had the ability to pu in their own pages, audio files, pick animations/transitions, and similar. Then, when ready, they could publish it to the Apple and Google App stores to sell. A marketplace was created so that people could purchase new books, as well. This way, an independent author could sell their own book on the store, but also piggyback on the install base. A nice additionalf feature was the ability for readers to record themselves reading the book, too, then send it to someone else. So a grandparent could read a book to a grandchild they didn't see very often.
