Dead Last: No Escape started out as a proof of concept from Rocksauce Head of Development, Jason Bender. Jason's demo featured an 8-bit dog shooting 8-bit ducks as they swarmed from 360°. The mechanic was great - simple, addictive, and difficult. I knew Zombies would be the perfect fit for the game. We took it internally, splitting up the different roles amongst the team. John Gholson provided voice, helped write stories & did concept art. I handled pixel art, animations + the Game Direction. Alice Traini amazed all of us with her amazingly cool theme song. We launched at SXSW that year with free tattos (I got my first, a RS Thunderdrop), zombies, live bands, drinks and games! The game is still really rocking.
